#getreal about how we really feel

Learning to feel better.

#Getreal challenges us to get in touch with what we are feeling. We are human. We react to change and it doesn’t always feel good. Growing up on a farm, I was introduced early to the idea of learning new ways to get the job done. The farming community was great at sharing new ideas and so, I was also introduced to the importance of learning from those around me. We didn’t have all the answers but that didn’t stop us from learning, asking questions and adopting something new.

Perhaps it was this underlying programming that kicked in when I met Willem Lammers in 2013. His work in the field of healing and development has led to the discovery of Logosynthesis®. It is an innovative approach to heal trauma and anxiety. I didn’t need a tool for trauma or anxiety but I wanted something to tone down the intensity of my busy life. On the farm, we didn’t spend time talking about feelings. We got over things and moved on. At first, this wasn’t a comfortable area for me but I was curious and wanted to learn more. I recognized that Willem’s work had potential to both heal trauma and to help me with my everyday stress. I started to use the tool and to notice what happened.

Not only did I feel better, I felt calmer and more productive.

Logosynthesis® is a model for self-coaching and guided change based on words and sentences to change energy fields. The model reframes how we approach what bothers us. The solution is simple and powerful.

– Notice feelings

The starting point for Logosynthesis® is to relax and avoid interruption. Notice what bothers you. Firstly, the thoughts. Next, the emotions. And then, the body symptoms. Connect and rate the level of distress.

– Identify the trigger

As you connect with the distress, notice any sensory perceptions that arise. Don’t analyze. Simply notice. Images are common representations that appear in our personal space. You may also hear sounds and voices. You may have a sense of pressure or movement. Note what appears and where it appears. This is labelled as the trigger.

– Process the trigger

Next, you apply the three specific Logosynthesis® sentences to this trigger. This frozen energy is what triggers the distressing thoughts, feelings and emotions. Be sure to allow sufficient time for the words to work after each sentence. Also notice what shifts and reassess your level of distress. Remember that you can repeat the process for any remaining distress.

#getreal about how you feel

Logosynthesis® is revolutionary because you already have what you need to do the work. You have the power to shift distressing thoughts, emotions and body sensations to feel better. The more you practice, the better you feel … one step at a time.  To learn how to use it and to process intense feelings from traumatic events, the support of a trained professional will guide the process.

You don’t need perfection to realize progress. Also, you don’t need to understand how it works for the words to work. And you don’t need to analyze your past in order to resolve what is stuck. The more you practice, the easier it becomes to use this model to support your health and wellness.

Allow at least 30 minutes so that you are not rushed. And then, simply follow my guidance on the video. Energy shifts can feel subtle or intense, so take some time to notice what shifts over the next few days and weeks. Enjoy!
