Being true to yourself: A Logosynthesis® perspective

Being true to yourself using Logosynthesis

In today’s fast-paced world, the concept of “being true to yourself” often comes up as a key element of personal growth and well-being. But what does it really mean, and how do you know when you are being true to yourself? From the perspective of Logosynthesis, being true to yourself is more than following your passions or making decisions that align with your values. It’s about uncovering and releasing the frozen, reactive patterns that prevent you from accessing your true self.

What Does “Being True to Yourself” Mean?

Being true to yourself involves connecting with your authentic Essence, free from limiting beliefs, conditioning, and societal expectations. As humans, we have accumulated layers of thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors based on past experiences and fearful fantasies, especially from times when we felt threatened or unsafe. Over time, these layers can become so deeply ingrained that they start to shape our identity, keeping us from seeing and experiencing our true potential.

In the context of Logosynthesis, we view these patterns as frozen energetic structures associated with distressing thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. These frozen patterns act as barriers between who you really are and who you think you are supposed to be.

Identifying Belief Blindspots

One of the challenges of being true to yourself is recognizing where you are stuck in belief blindspots—those areas where you are stuck in patterned reactions without even recognizing the impact. You may have a lot of energy frozen in the belief that you need to work hard to prove your worth or that being strong means that you need to carry the weight of other people’s struggles. However, these beliefs can keep you in cycles of stress, overwork, and burnout.

At The Healthy Living Plan, guide and teach individuals to recognize and resolve these blindspots using a powerful new coaching and psychotherapeutic model called Logosynthesis®. By paying attention to your automatic reactions, in the form of thoughts, emotions and physical sensations, we guide you to identify and resolve the underlying mental imagery that triggers these responses. These frozen energies are tied to painful memories, limiting beliefs and fearful fantasies that are often outside of your awareness. Working layer by layer using a structured, repeatable technique, you can shift the energy and allow your true self to emerge naturally.

Releasing Frozen Energy with Logosynthesis

Logosynthesis® offers a simple yet profound model for releasing the frozen energy that blocks access to your authentic self. The Logosynthesis® Basic Procedure involves identifying the triggering memory, belief or fantasy. From there, using power and intention of words to shift energy, you use three specific sentences to release the frozen trigger. As the trigger is dissolved, you experience a shift in how you relate to yourself and the world around you.

With each layer, you feel more present and at ease. You begin to notice that your choices and actions become more aligned with who you are at a deeper level, rather than being driven by external pressures or internal fears.

Attuning to Nature to Connect with Your True Self

Nature plays a vital role in being true to yourself. Attuning to the natural world offers an opportunity to connect with the simplicity and beauty of living authentically. In moments of stress or confusion, enjoying nature can help you to shift your energy and reconnect with the essence of who you are.

Whether it’s a walk in the park, a moment of stillness in your garden, or simply breathing in the fresh air, these moments allow you to reset and tune into your true self. Nature reminds us of the importance of energy flow—just as a river flows around obstacles, we too can learn to move with the challenges in our lives by letting go of the resistance that holds us back.

Living Authentically in a Complex World

In a world full of noise and competing expectations, being true to yourself can sometimes feel unachievable. However, it’s one of the most powerful ways to create a life of meaning, fulfillment, and peace. When you live authentically, you are able to let go of reactions to the opinions of others or the need for validation. You begin to make choices based on your inner knowing, rather than what others expect. Logosynthesis® helps facilitate this journey by providing a structured way to release the limiting beliefs and reactive patterns that keep you stuck.

A Personal Example: Letting Go of Frozen Energy in my Beliefs

Believing my Beliefs

For the past ten years, I’ve incorporated Logosynthesis® into my daily life as part of a routine practice for healthy living. Through professional training and deep personal work, I’ve come to appreciate the immense potential it offers. I’ve been able to let go of patterns of behaviour that, while useful at times, were also obstructing my personal and professional goals. Many of these patterns trace back to my upbringing in a large family on a bustling dairy farm. Here we learned early on to work hard, work smart, and work fast. Each of us was expected to pull our weight and do our share – or more. These values became ingrained as a way of life.

From one perspective, these traits may seem like a dream for employers. And indeed, they were often praised in my performance reviews. But at times, they brought an unnecessary intensity to the workplace, contributing to stress. Yet, I was so entrenched in this belief system that I didn’t even recognize that it was something I could shift. I thought the issue was everyone else. They weren’t working hard enough or pulling their share. My energy was frozen in these beliefs, leaving me unable to see other perspectives or solutions.

Stuck in My Reactions

Yes, I was stuck. My reactions became more automatic and stressful as the workplace grew busier. And furthermore, I couldn’t see any other options. It wasn’t that I needed to change my beliefs entirely. The real challenge was letting go of the frozen energy that kept me trapped in these reactive patterns. Only through Logosynthesis® did I begin to make meaningful shifts.

As I started paying attention to what I reacted to, I was able to apply Logosynthesis® to identify and resolve the triggering beliefs. One by one, these reactive patterns began to dissolve. Overall, I felt calmer and more focused. And I felt empowered because I knew I didn’t need to stay stuck in these patterns.

One specific situation stands out. As an account manager, I often found myself frustrated by the slow computer systems at work. I had numerous platforms to update with financial and forecasting data, and as more systems were added, the slower things got. Logging a help desk ticket seemed like a huge waste of time. I would impatiently open multiple systems and click refresh over and over, hoping to speed things up.

Releasing the Energy in My Beliefs

One day, I noticed that my coworkers weren’t reacting with the same impatience. Yet when asked, they were also having issues. This made me curious. So, I turned to Logosynthesis® to explore my own reaction. As I worked through the process, I uncovered a memory of impatiently chasing slow-moving cows on a hot summer day. I didn’t have to analyze it. I simply used the Logosynthesis® sentences on this memory. As the energy shifted, I was calmer. This allowed me to call the help desk and report the issue. Surprisingly, we discovered that employees across the country were experiencing the same problem at the same time each day. Yet no one had reported it. In a more present state, I was able to take meaningful action.

Layer by Layer, Being True to Myself

This is just one example, but over the years, I’ve paid attention to my reactions in many areas of life—whether it’s related to family, friends, work, or personal time. I don’t have to tackle everything all at once, but I now have the tools to shift my patterned reactions when something bothers me. The result is liberating!

These shifts have allowed me to feel more connected and to enjoy everyday interactions more fully. Rather than changing my life, Logosynthesis® has helped me experience my life in a more meaningful way.

In this journey, I’ve learned that being true to myself isn’t about rigidly holding onto beliefs or ways of being—it’s about releasing the energy trapped in those beliefs so I can respond to life with calm, focus, and authenticity. Layer by layer, I’m discovering my true self.
