“ It’s not just our heads. Our body is connected to our head.
We are a whole person: mind, body and spirit. “
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Logosynthesis® are used to support healing and personal growth.
Comparing CBT and Logosynthesis® offers the opportunity to identify the benefits of a new therapeutic and coaching model. When it comes to addressing mental health challenges, there are many therapeutic and coaching approaches available. It can be difficult to choose the ‘best’ approach for the client. Many factors play a role in the selection, including the expertise of the guide, the base of evidence and the preference of the client. For new approaches that are not yet supported by evidence-based research, comparing to a known approach can help inform the client’s approach. CBT is not only supported by evidence-based research. Training is widely available and the language of ‘cognitive’ is widely understood. By contrast, Logosynthesis® works from an energetic approach, is not yet supported by evidence-based research and also, its healing pathway is less accepted in the medical community.
Melanie’s experience
Melanie has been struggling with mental health challenges for a long time. She had experience using CBT but her challenges continued. Unable to hold down a job or live on her own, she came to Logosynthesis® to resolve long-standing behaviour patterns that were keeping her stuck. She finally noticed that she was able to move forward in her life. It was not always easy but she was now able to recognize patterns and resolve the underlying perceptual triggers.
Melanie’s feedback:
Melanie recently asked me if she could provide her feedback about her experience using both CBT and Logosynthesis®. I certainly value the client’s perspective in therapy and feel it is important to share these experiences. Her insights are offered in her own words in a one-page pdf you can download here:
A quote from Melanie.
“Logosynthesis® is gentle and a lot kinder on the body’s wellbeing. It’s not just our heads. Our body is connected to our head. We are a whole person: mind, body and spirit. It is good to have a guide when the situation or any of the above are big, and may take a few cycles of Logosynthesis® to resolve it. We work layer by layer and the guide is there to hold the space and support you because sometimes the energy can feel intense (or not so intense). Knowing someone is there for you can be really helpful and a real comfort.”
– Melanie –
Two models with two paths to healing.
When considering therapeutic approaches, clients are encouraged to explore various modalities. They often prefer the one that resonates most with their unique needs and preferences. CBT and Logosynthesis® present contrasting paths to personal growth and healing. CBT focuses on cognitively challenging negative thought patterns. Logosynthesis® uses the power of words to identify and neutralize the underlying mental imagery that triggers distressing thoughts, emotions and physical sensations.
Ultimately, the effectiveness of any therapeutic approach depends on the individual’s willingness to engage and actively participate in the therapeutic process. It’s important to note that both CBT and Logosynthesis® can complement each other or be used in conjunction with other therapeutic modalities. The choice between the two depends on the individual’s personal preferences, goals, and the nature of their challenges.
Both models support personal growth and healing
While CBT and Logosynthesis® approach therapy from different angles, both can support personal growth and healing. CBT focuses on the cognitive aspects of thoughts and behaviors, providing practical strategies to reframe negative thinking patterns. Logosynthesis, as described by Melanie, takes an energy healing-based approach, allowing clients to move beyond patterns of behaviour to experience transformative change.
Ultimately, the most effective therapeutic approach is the one that resonates with the client, fosters a trusting therapeutic relationship, and empowers them to navigate their unique journey of self-discovery and healing.
