How do you deal with anxiety? – A client’s story

My journey with anxiety

Back in 2019, I was in a dark place. Anxiety and depression had taken a strong hold on me, and I struggled daily. I had gone through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to tackle irrational fears—like believing something bad would happen if I took a shower or washed. I worked through several CBT sessions trying to fight this fear.

Alongside this, I went through multiple counseling sessions. While those helped me express my thoughts and get things off my chest, it wasn’t enough. I even had a life coach, who guided me through core values exercises and mindfulness techniques, helping me understand my personal drivers. Despite all this effort, I still felt lost.

Searching for Solutions

I tried tapping as a method to ease my anxiety, but that didn’t work for me either. I had suffered from anxiety since leaving school in 2005, and it only worsened as I grew older. By the time I was introduced to Logosynthesis®, I was desperate for a solution.

My introduction to Logosynthesis® was unconventional. My life coach emailed me some sentences and told me to read them without thinking too much about their meaning—just read them. What happened next was unexpected. I began crying, and over the next few days, I felt a sense of relief but also deep emotion and exhaustion. I remember thinking, Is this normal?

In curiosity, I reached out to my life coach to share what I’d experienced. She assured me it was normal and told me to trust the process: Don’t overthink it.

Discovering Logosynthesis®

I couldn’t shake the feeling that I needed to know more about these sentences and where they came from. So I zoomed in on a small yellow text at the top of the page and entered it into YouTube. Suddenly, a flood of videos appeared, but one in particular caught my attention: What is Logosynthesis®?

I spent several nights listening to the video, and every time I repeated the sentences, I had the same emotional release. That was the moment I became fully intrigued. I wanted to learn more and see how Logosynthesis® could help me.

That’s when I reached out to Cathy, and from there, everything changed.

From Chaos to Understanding

At that time, my life felt like chaos. I had no routine, my mind was constantly racing, and I couldn’t catch a break. A habit was excessive coffee to manage the stress. I was still living with my parents, but I desperately wanted to live independently.

By the time I started working with Cathy, I knew deep down that I had a long way to go. I had 10 pro-bono sessions with her, and we would reassess from there. I was finally beginning to understand that simply labeling my feelings as “my anxiety” wasn’t explaining anything. There was always something—or someone—causing the anxiety in the first place.

The Power of Logosynthesis®

Before using Logosynthesis®, I couldn’t grasp why the same issues kept repeating themselves. I would hit the same emotional walls over and over again. Logosynthesis® helped me break through those barriers.

It completely transformed my life. I went from living with my parents and feeling stuck to living independently and learning how to deal with the root causes of my anxiety. I started working through supported employment.

As I moved forward, I continued to have sessions to resolve the blocks that surfaced along the way. Each session offered insight to what I was experiencing and helped me better appreciate my life.

Moving Forward with Less Stress

Since then, life has continued to change. I’ve been in and out of work, and I recently moved again. The anxiety that came with moving to a new place activated another layer of reactions that felt intense. Yet thanks to Logosynthesis®, the transition was smoother. Instead of overwhelming stress, I felt more in flow, with an ease I hadn’t experienced before.

I’ve faced more challenges since, and I’m still adjusting to how my life looks now compared to the past. But with every step, Logosynthesis® has been a key resource in helping me handle the changes.

What I’ve Learned Along the Way

Through my experience with Logosynthesis, I’ve learned several valuable lessons that have helped me manage anxiety:

  1. Trust the Process
Learning to trust the process is essential. It’s not always easy, but it works.
  2. Words Have Power
Be mindful of the words you use. They affect not only you but also the people around you. Words shape our thinking and behavior.
  3. Stay Curious
Be interested in what’s to come because life is full of surprises and lessons.
  4. Life is a Learning Experience
Life is an ongoing experience, and we grow with each challenge we face.
  5. The Art of Being Still
Learning to just “be” takes practice and time, much like meditation. Logosynthesis® is a great way to start listening to your body and recognizing what bothers you. From there, you can learn to sit with yourself and find peace.
  6. Respect the Helpers
Practitioners, counselors, and coaches give their time to help others, but they also do their own work. We’re all in this together.
  7. Enjoy Life and Smile
Above all, enjoy life. Don’t forget to smile.

Where I Am Now

Today, I only ask for a Logosynthesis® session when I feel like I’ve hit a block I can’t resolve on my own. For the smaller challenges, I now use meditation and self-help tools like breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques.

Logosynthesis® has changed how I manage anxiety in my daily life, and it’s been a lifeline that I didn’t know I needed.
